NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company, one of the largest medical professional liability insurance companies in the nation based on direct written premium, has begun offering coverage to physicians in Mississippi, North Carolina and Ohio. NORCAL now protects physicians and health care professionals in 21 states.
This is the latest phase in NORCAL’s multi-year expansion plan, in which NORCAL will strategically enter new markets and transition policyholders from subsidiary companies to NORCAL Mutual policies. Medicus Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of NORCAL Mutual, has been offering coverage to physicians in Mississippi and Ohio since 2008 and North Carolina since 2010.

NORCAL has served the medical community for more than 40 years, bringing the highest quality insurance protection to medical practices. Our new policy offers comprehensive coverages for emerging risks faced by today’s practices such as cyber liability,” Ron Rumin, senior vice president and chief business development officer of NORCAL said.
