NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company, one of the largest medical professional liability insurance companies in the nation based on direct written premium, will begin offering coverage this month to physicians in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and South Carolina. NORCAL will begin offering coverage in Indiana beginning in March. These five states are the latest in NORCAL’s national expansion, which also introduces a new policy to each market that offers enhanced coverages such as cyber liability.
“We are pleased to introduce NORCAL to these states and continue to grow the partnerships we have developed through our subsidiary company Medicus Insurance Company. Medicus currently serves more than 1,600 healthcare professionals throughout these states,” Ron Rumin, senior vice president and chief business development officer of NORCAL said.
Healthcare professionals in Oklahoma and Georgia can begin to receive coverage from NORCAL on Feb. 1. Florida and South Carolina physicians will have the choice of NORCAL coverage beginning Feb. 28, and Indiana health care professionals will have the option of NORCAL beginning March 1.
