Premium Relief for Connecticut Policyholders
Due to the recent impact of Tropical Storm Isaias, NORCAL is providing premium payment relief to policyholders throughout Connecticut. For premium payments due on or after Aug. 5, 2020, we’ve instituted a grace period until Sept. 4, 2020 to provide additional time for insureds to submit payment. We want to ensure that our policyholders are able to focus on bringing stability back to their homes and practices without any disruption of coverage.
The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance has provided guidance that policyholders experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19 are to be allowed to elect a 90-day grace period to pay premiums. The first day of the extended grace period would be either April 1, 2020 or May 1, 2020. To ensure our policyholders had the support they needed during this difficult time, NORCAL suspended cancellations due to non-payment of premium until June 30, 2020, for active policies with invoices due on or after March 13, 2020, as previously communicated.

COVID-19 Premium Relief for Policyholders
NORCAL Group is steadfast in our pledge to support our policyholders during these times that are particularly challenging for healthcare providers. As such, we will be suspending cancellations due to non-payment of premium until June 30, 2020 for active policies with invoices due on or after March 13, 2020. Any Notices of Cancellation issued on or after March 13 will be rescinded. Additionally, we will continue to align with Department of Insurance guidance in individual states that have premium relief beginning before or ending after our own grace period.
